Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in schools

An early intervention and prevention service that works in partnership with schools to support children from age 5-18 with early indicators of mild indicators of mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties. The team offers a whole-school approach so interventions which can include direct work with pupils (either group or individual); guided self-help on low mood and anxiety as well as parent psychoeducation sessions; as well as school staff reflection groups, training and resource development. 

The teams are based within the school and referrals are made via school. Self-referrals are also available for parents and secondary age pupils. More details can be found on school website for participating schools.
